Revenge of the Gamer

Yuri Silvertongue & the Violet Spire is my first novel length project.  I wrote it to hone my skills and have been amazed by how much I’ve learned.   

I’ve finished the novel and it clocks in at 306 pages, or roughly 160,000 words.  I can’t express how good it feels to have completed the manuscript.  Thanks to Saul, Shannon and Jeff for all the help along the way! 

Looking back I cringe when reading this, as my current work is much improved.  But Yuri was a necessary step of my development, and taught me so many things about writing.  Please feel free to give it a read, and if you like it post something here to let me know!

What’s it about? 

Being a mere human among the dreaded Lintha means Yuri is used to a life of humiliation and helplessness.   Drowning himsef in strong wine, beautiful women and the clatter of dice he dreams of escaping the pirates and taking up an honest trade like smuggling.  When Yuri Exalts into a Solar he is finally given his chance.

Karissa is a pampered Dragon-Blooded from House V’neef who posseses all of the Empress’ beauty.  After graduating from the Heptagram as a powerful sorceress she is commanded by V’neef herself to find a husband, though she longs for a life of adventure.  Disobeying V’neef’s orders Karissa joins her brother at sea to hunt pirates in the name of the Realm.

When Yuri and Karissa meet their fates become intertwined.  Helped along by a young Sidereal they must put aside their differences to stop a threat that could destroy creation itself.  The demonic Green Sun princes have returned and even the might of the Solar may not be enough to stop them.
